"Key Changes Proposed By ICAI Regarding the Course"

ICAI proposed the exposure draft of new scheme of education and training which will open for public comments for 30 days. This new scheme applicable from May 2023 onward exams.
Key Higlight in proposed scheme:
- CA which was the a course of 48 months will be now able to complete in 42 months
- Articleship period to be reduced from 3 years to 2 years
- Allowed leaves in articleship also reduced from 156 to 24 days only
- For taking COP, one has to undergo 1 year work experience under FCA in practice
- Final attempt only after 6 month of completion of articleship period of 2 month
- From 8 papers reduced to 6 papers now (for both Final & Intermediate)
- Can register for foundation in 10th also
- Foundation examination may be given after apperance of 12th exam ( Currently, after passing 12th only, one can appear in foundation examination)
- Now MCQ of 30% in all 6 papers with negative marking of 25%.
These are only the proposed changes.
